Control Systems Integrator is seeking an experienced Sales Engineer with controls & instrumentation solution sales experience in the Houston, TX area. Responsibilities:
Generate and qualify leads
Present, promote, and sell services using technical expertise and proven sales skills
Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships
Expand the business volume and profitability by achieving agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within the timeframe of schedule
Estimate projects, write proposals, bid, and negotiate contracts
Provide input for operational improvement and growing the scope of services/offerings by supplying management with information on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new services
Provide detailed documented scope of work, proposal budget, and project schedule to engineering group for project implementation
Coordinate with production and engineering for proposal lead times based on resource availability and other project schedules
Act as the liaison between customer and implementation team
Provide input into operational budgets based on sales information and projections
Support marketing efforts including trade shows, promotions, sales events, etc.
Requirements:
An engineering degree is strongly preferred
Technical understanding of Electrical Engineering, Control Systems architectures, technologies, and industry terms
Must have proven industrial, commercial, or municipal sales experience
Ability to communicate, present, and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
Capable of developing an iron-clad business case
Knowledge of government contracts at both the state and federal level a plus
Intermediate to advanced computer application knowledge, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
Valid Texas drivers license and insurance
Good driving record, drug testing, and clear background check to obtain TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card) through the Department of Homeland Security
