Position Reports To: Field Foreman
Job Profile
A Craftsman shall perform or assist in the removal, fitting and application of new insulation materials and/or coverings as required per the job scope. A Craftsman shall also perform general site work such as loading and unloading equipment and materials, site clean-up and preparation, mobilization and demobilization to and from the jobsite, and general construction tasks.
Essential Functions
Employees will be required to:
Follow verbal directions as required to perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor. Heavy lifting will often be required to perform tasks. Must be able to kneel, squat, and climb. Must be able to perform required duties for extended periods of time inside confined spaces, often with breathing equipment required. Must be able to tolerate extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time.
Shovels/rakes concrete into construction areas.
Excavate and grades trenches.
Maintain a clean job site. Pick up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
Perform material handling and storage.
Wants to learn how to do things correctly and ask for training when lacking experience how to do something.
Learns from previous problems & avoids repeating mistakes.
Has the knowledge to perform assigned duties.
Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Bring problems to the attention of the foreman, superintendent, safety director or project manager.
Assist Foreman and learn all aspects of the job
Operate skid steer, excavator, trowel machines and dump trucks preferred but not required
Assemble Symon brand form panels
Fabricate and install hand crafted steel and or wood forms
Weld and install embedded steel items in concrete
Assist with layout
Assist in placing and finishing concrete walls & slabs
Perform daily jobsite cleanup
Responsible for safety in all aspects of their work
Stage and setup equipment and materials needed on the job
Travel to job sites with their Foreman
Knowledge of the Concrete & Excavation trades
Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements
Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material (e.g. fiberglass) according to measurements
Build window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items
Lay out floorings, roofing’s or drywalls ensuring they are leveled and compatible
Carve and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items and install them where designated
Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance
Build scaffolding and other construction structures
Craftsmen may set up and take down ladders, scaffolding, and other temporary structures. They help carpenters, masons, and other specialized contractors clean up of work area, supplies, materials and equipment. Work unsupervised in an efficient and effective manner. Communicate regularly with the Field Foreman with regard to issues and concerns on the job site. Responsible for ensuring that work continues in the Foreman's absence. Comply with all Apache and client safety policies and programs. They may include cleaning and preparing a job site, loading and delivering materials, and using a variety of tools and machines such as blowtorches, forklifts, levels, lifts, power drills, grinders, saws, pressure washers, and water spraying equipment.
Reading blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements
Taking measurements and calculating the size and amount of material needed
Requirements
Flat-work/Finishing experience recommended
Experience with re-steel
Possess previous wall forming experience
Layout experience a plus
Bending, kneeling, reaching, squatting frequently
Follow Foreman’s instructions
Lift, carry, and maneuver 1-100 lbs.

Requirements
Possess a TWIC card
Be able to pass a hair follicle
Complete site specific training through safety council
Proven experience as carpenter
Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials
Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)
Ability to read technical documents and drawings
Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
Good knowledge of English
Good understanding of basic math
Good physical condition and endurance
High school diploma; Successful completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program is required
Cutting, shaping and smoothing lumber and other material (e.g. fiberglass) according to measurements

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works in environmental conditions that include inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold, and exposure to dust and concrete.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The position lifts heavy objects, walks, and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects, uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue, and effectively walks, climbs, or moves objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina.
Expected Hours of Work
Working days can be variable due to weather conditions and client requirements. This position frequently requires long hours, weekend work, and overtime may be required.
Travel
Travel is primarily within ’s normal area of operation; however, some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment.
