Perform duties as program director within an academic department. Serves as Campus Security Authority (CSA); Work hours: Mon-Fri; 8 AM- 5PM or as work and teaching requirements indicate. This is a 9-month non-tenure track position with a primary assignment to the Waco campus with the expectation of a 5-5 teaching load. This position may also be required to teach some classes at the RELLIS Campus (Bryan, Texas).Responsibilities: 100% Teaching & Service: Develop, implement and review effective teaching/learning processes, incorporating appropriate methodology, technology and other tools; Remain current in discipline and update course content when appropriate to reflect current levels of student knowledge in the discipline; Develop a system for ongoing evaluation of both teaching and learning, including expectations of student competency and student learning outcomes; Work in partnership with immediate supervisor through a formal system of evaluation of instruction to identify strengths and weaknesses and identify professional development activities to improve student learning. Service: Maintain appropriate schedule of office hours for student access and inquiry; work in partnership with student success personnel on student advising and orientation. Participate in institutional service roles such as but not limited to, college committees, club sponsorship, advisory committees, student/faculty recruitment and mentoring of new and part-time faculty. Required Education and Experience:Faculty Members in the Department of Social Work in the rank of Instructor must have earned a MSW from a CSWE-accredited Master’s program, as appropriate to this academic area. Two years post-MSW experience is required. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Demonstrated ability in the discipline; show clear promise of teaching excellence. Documented yearly progress of professional achievement in teaching. Excellent communication skills, enthusiasm, a commitment to ongoing learning, and the willingness to mentor students while serving as a gatekeeper to the profession are required.All positions are security-sensitive.
