Oak Utility is adding General Laborers to our directional boring crews installing fiber. You’ll support the drill operator and locator with potholing existing utilities, setting handholes, pulling in fiber, site cleanup, and traffic control. Outdoor work in all weather. This is for a long-term project installing fiber optic cable across Falls County.
What you’ll do
Safely pothole existing utilities (hydrovac and hand digging) to verify depths/clearances, set handholes/pedestals and backfill/compact to spec, pull fiber and assist with conduit placement, handle drill rods, mix drilling fluids, spot for equipment, and maintain a clean site, set up basic traffic control (cones/signs/flagging), follow foreman/locator directions and all safety procedures
What you need
Reliable transportation and consistent attendance, able to lift 50–75 lbs, bend/kneel, and work on your feet all day, comfortable working around live utilities and in ROWs/easements, willing to work OT and occasional Saturdays, valid driver’s license (CDL A a plus), experience with vac trucks, shovels, compactors, or utility construction preferred but not required, safety-first mindset (OSHA-10 a plus)
