A busy household in Valley Mills, Texas is looking for a reliable, proactive, and animal-loving House Manager to support the smooth running of their 70-acre farmhouse. The home includes various animals (horses, a Jersey cow, cats, dogs, reptiles), several small outbuildings, and ongoing home projects. The family values independence, responsibility, strong work ethic, and someone who can take ownership without needing to be micromanaged.
This role is ideal for someone who loves animals, enjoys hands-on home projects, and thrives in a dynamic farmhouse environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate farrier visits for hoof trimming
Feeding and watering (as needed)
Clean animal enclosures (rare stall cleaning 3 weeks per year)
Light care for kids’ pets when they are away (snakes, lizard, doves, guinea pigs, etc.)
Cat grooming (brush cats to reduce hair shedding)
Clean occasional indoor messes from small dogs
Important:
Must not have cat allergies
Must genuinely enjoy being around multiple animals
2. Household Cleaning & Reset
Daily reset of common areas (floors, surfaces, windows, entryway)

Light bathroom tidying
Kitchen reset (counters, dishes, surfaces)
Maintain a clean, orderly environment throughout the home
Deep cleaning as needed
3. Home Projects & Maintenance Support
The home is an 1870s limestone farmhouse with ongoing projects. Responsibilities include:
Coordinating small projects (replacing broken pipes, repairs, improvements)
Scheduling contractors (electrical, plumbing, maintenance)
Maintaining property structures:
Barn
Tractor shed
Detached garage
Chicken coop (setup and maintenance)
Playhouse conversion
Power-washing limestone exterior as needed
Supporting renovation tasks (organization, prep, scheduling)
Helping the family get projects done “one at a time” with clear structure
You do not need to perform advanced repair work, but should be handy and comfortable assisting.
4. Meal Support
Light meal prep
Prepping dinner and setting timers (family likes dinner ready when they return)
Simple cooking: casseroles, oven meals, prepped foods
Organizing kitchen and monitoring pantry staples
5. Household Organization
Creating and maintaining order in the home
Tracking supplies and restocking items
Following a clear daily/weekly checklist
Light laundry support as needed (kids do their own on their weeks)

Occasional visit on weekends to feed/water dogs
Let indoor dogs out to prevent accidents
Pet sitting support when family travels
Potential optional house-sitting
