This position will focus on driving Schwab's "Though the Clients Eyes" guiding principle from the lens of Service Availability and Engineering for Advisor Services Technology. Additionally, this leader will partner with other Availability teams across Schwab Technology Services to run and participate in cross organizational initiatives. At its core, this role is designed to be a change catalyst for technology operations in Advisor Services Technology.

As a Senior Manager, you'll serve as a strong and versatile leader by heading a team of Project Managers, Release Managers, and robust engineers to deliver efficiency, performant process, and the Service Availability Engineering team's OKRs. You have strong team leadership skills with the ability to hire, guide, coach and grow exceptional technology teams. You are a visible leader that grows, develops, and motivates future leaders for our firm. You foster an innovation culture and thirst for technology innovation.
Communicate well with teams and leaders of the organization, have active listening skills, ask great questions, and provide good development feedback.
Build strong and highly functional partnerships with product and other technology teams. Exercise your expertise with enterprise IT operations practices, high availability systems, and people leadership to deliver cutting edge technologies as well as opportunity to see the work your team delivers used across IT to lead Schwab's technology services. Above all, you lead a team with culture, not demands. A manager has the title, but a leader has the people.
What you have
BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, related degree, or related experience
4+ years' experience running medium to large/complex IT projects with multiple internal / external dependencies
Hands on development experience in Software Architecture and Design with over 8+ years in core technology projects.
Technical professional experience leading core commitments for an organization of 40+ people.
Experience developing and managing cross organization and cross enterprise projects impacting over 250 employees.
Completed advanced leadership training programs(s) or equivalent business/management courses.
Ability to optimally inspire and influence teams and partners in delivering technology enabled business solutions that exceed business expectations.
Ability to execute in a dynamic environment, build strong relationships and promote collaboration, identify talent, recruit, hire, coach, mentor and build robust teams; experience setting direction, tracking progress, and ensuring accountability.
Ability to analyze, propose and implement timely, cost effective, quality solutions for all issues or problems within area of responsibility.
Strong influencing, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with an ability to identify partners, assess their needs and lead their expectations through effective communication.
Ability to independently lead things as a contributing member in a fast-paced environment across multiple time zones and locations.
Proven track record as a change catalyst in a fast-paced environment, strong partnership in both ideation and execution with more than 30 partners
Self-starter who is driven by what's possible rather than what's immediately doable
