Sr. Network EngineerWestlake, TX (remote to start then onsite)
Contract to hire (no visa sponsorship available at this time) The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for support and maintenance of Internet work services, including routers and switches, load balancing and security for the company. This will include supporting the network platforms on the Managed Network, including routers and switches as well as Internet/Extranet platforms that provide network security, load balancing and balanced file transfer. Typical duties will include fixing a highly complex Internet/Extranet environment traversing multiple platforms, performing routine maintenance on multiple platforms, supporting Network engineering groups on projects such as certifying new architectures, code upgrades as well as securing the environment through tactical organizational change. Primary Responsibilities
Handle and Maintain highly sophisticated firewall and network environments
Support Internet/Extranet Engineering through use of Firewalls, IDS/IPS, various proxy gateway and other network security devices to provide defense-in-depth protection from cyber security threats
Support Routed/Routing Protocols: BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VRF, VPNs
Network Change Implementation
Implement code upgrade/hot fix from vendor
Change verification/validation with customer
Assist in solving related to change
Solve all issues related to Internet/extranet network as well as internal network connectivity issues
Documentation of complex technologies and topologies
Vendor management for multiple platforms
Support the environment in an on-call rotation
Have the flexibility to work varying shifts
Skills and Knowledge
Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP, including application knowledge
Global/Local load balancing knowledge in F5 environment
Extensive Routers and Switch experience, specific to Client, Cisco and Nexus hardware
Strong Unix/Linux skills
Network Security skills: Firewall, IPS/IDS, Webfiltering, etc.
