The Senior Legal Counsel will be focused on negotiating, drafting, and approving enterprise and insurance SaaS and data licensing arrangements and supporting our North America insurance sales business. Where required, this role will support other regions where our group operates and work on other legal and regulatory aspects for our corporate group. The candidate will be responsible for direct relationships with certain business leaders and sales verticals to help them achieve their projected targets. Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the North American insurance sales organization and go-to-market efforts by:Supporting and advising the insurance sales team on deal structure and contract negotiations, including advising on legal risks and legal liabilities associated with contractual arrangements;Representing Nearmap’s interests and interfacing directly with opposing counsel and negotiation teams; andProviding training to the insurance team in understanding the legal position and risk exposure;Draft, review, and negotiate external-facing product and vendor contracts;Attend to legal-related external customer support requests and enquiries;Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risk associated with new, updated, and/or discontinuation of products, including updating standard terms as needed;Ensure compliance with applicable data privacy and other relevant regulations; andCollaborate on global legal projects lead by the Deputy General Counsel(s).
