Substitute Instructor, Automation Technology Location: Lehi, UT Status: Part-time Hours: Varies based on department needs Pay / Hourly: $27.00-$30.00/hourly Summary Under the direction of the Director of Programs and the designated Program Coordinator the Substitute Teacher is responsible for the performance of instructional and classroom management processes for instructors who are absent. Essential Functions General:
Demonstrate commitment to the Mission and Objectives of Mountainland Technical College.
Abide by and support college policies, processes, procedures and plans
Must complete all required institutional training in a timely manner
Must participate in meetings and training as required by the department
Emulate and hold students and self to professional standards in attitude, uniform and grooming for their industry.
I nstruction
Provide effective instruction and facilitate student learning for the program
Review and implement lesson plans
Engage students for the entirety of the scheduled class
Give clear instructions and help students understand the lesson
Maintain discipline and control of the classroom
Record student attendance
Foster a safe and nurturing learning atmosphere
Teach and require safety as a regular daily component of skill practice
Supervise, debrief, and evaluate students in lab, clinical, externship, or other work-based learning activities if instructing in these settings
Perform evaluations of student learning, using course objectives as a guide
Provide security for assignment keys and testing to avoid cheating
Carefully respect the confidentiality of student information and refrain from discussing or releasing such information except within recognized limits
Respond promptly to student concerns and/or appeals
Observe and follow school policies
Required Education and Experience
Minimum Two-Year Certificate or Associate’s Degree from an accredited post-secondary Manufacturing Engineering or Manufacturing Technology program.
Minimum two years of experience working in manufacturing practice prior to entering the position
Minimum education is High School Diploma or equivalent
Must be knowledgeable in course content, as evidenced by education and experience, effective in directing and evaluation student learning in didactic and laboratory performance
