About the Position:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Concrete Carpenter to join our team, specializing in heavy civil projects, including tunnels, structural concrete, and other complex infrastructure work. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on technical execution, quality, safety, and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
Formwork Construction: Build and assemble forms or molds for holding concrete in place, ensuring compliance with design specifications for tunnels, bridges, and other structural projects.
Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project requirements and calculate material needs.
Concrete Placement and Finishing: Pour, spread, and smooth concrete within forms, ensuring proper compaction, curing, and surface finishing.
Reinforcement Installation: Securely place and anchor steel reinforcing bars (rebar) or mesh to add strength to concrete structures.
Safety Compliance: Follow all health and safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and actively participate in creating a safe work environment.
Quality Assurance: Inspect work for compliance with quality standards, adjust as needed, and ensure adherence to construction codes and best practices.
Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other team members to address technical challenges and meet project goals effectively.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience as a Concrete Carpenter in heavy civil, structural concrete, or tunnel projects.
Proficiency in using carpentry tools and techniques for formwork construction.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Strong understanding of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Attention to detail and dedication to delivering high-quality workmanship.
Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in challenging environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
ACI Concrete Flatwork Certification is a plus but not required.
Experience working on technical infrastructure projects, including hydroelectric, water resource, or pipeline construction.
