Job ID: 2501 The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking an Entry-Level Technician to assist in the assembly of thermal straps, performing mechanical and thermal testing on thermal straps including testing in vacuum chambers, precision cleaning of spaceflight hardware, thermal blanketing design and application, mechanical part design and assembly, inspection, and interfacing with other disciplines (QA, machine shop, contamination control, etc.) to deliver spaceflight hardware on schedule. Occasional evening and weekend shifts when certain testing requires it. There is some flexibility in scheduling. At SDL, we take pride in and highly value our employees. Required Qualifications:
Must be a US citizen, lawful permanent resident of the US, or other US person
High School graduate, GED, or some higher education
Ability to see projects through from start to finish
Self-motivated, dependable, and detail oriented
Ability to design basic parts using SolidEdge, SolidWorks, or similar tool is a plus
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to identify and work through problems that may arise
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to work with other team members for completion of required tasks
Preferred Qualifications:
Machining/soldering experience is a plus
Ability to read and create mechanical drawings is a plus
Experience with Thermal Straps is a plus
