Special Needs Caregiver (Summer Program) Summary: Be a caregiver this summer by joining our team! OPPO's Summer Program encourages independence for our special needs campers. Our clients have the chance to identify new passions, nurture their talents, and increase their skills. In our camp, special needs campers sample athletic, creative, outdoor, and water activities that are engaging and fun. We want every camper to leave our Summer Program more aware of how they can interact with their communities. We encourage individuals to step out of their comfort zones, challenge themselves, make new friends, learn new things, and then acknowledge their accomplishments. Employees in our Summer Program get the chance to grow and influence young minds while participating in awesome activities all around Utah to Davis counties areas. This position is a temporary summer position with full-time hours, but could work into permanent employment if you are interested! This is a great job for people on summer break from college, teachers and paraprofessionals on summer break, or anyone who wants to try something who loves to make an impact. Minimum Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years old

Current and active driver's license

Ability to obtain company-sponsored CPR/First Aid Certification

Ideal Qualifications:

Shows compassion, patience, and positive attitude, and provides excellent care

Properly manages and implements prescribed behavioral programs with aggressive, self-abuse, and non-compliant individuals

Responsibilities:

Comprehensive supervision of the summer camp clients

Documents timely daily client notes and monthly reports within Company software

Supervising, planning, and participating in activities with clients.

Support clients with specific needs and activities of daily living (ADL), bathrooms, hygiene, eating, etc.

Stays accessible and in contact with management and reports any concerns or incidents in a timely fashion

Has access to reliable transportation, and provides insurance/registration in a timely manner

Keeps required certifications updated and maintains personal compliance.

Will be responsible to transport clients or traveling to client locations within employees' assigned working zone.

May be requested to travel to a client location outside employees' work zone as needed.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking.

Is outside during extremes in weather (heat of summer day)

Must be comfortable in a swimming pool assisting others

Properly manage aggressive/non-compliant individuals and be able to implement prescribed behavioral programs.

Has the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, use mechanical lifts where required and transfer individuals correctly
