This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here.Job Description:As a Support Equipment (SE) Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for creating and implementing deployable structures and mechanical mechanisms at the cutting edge of space technology. You will have ownership of your work from the concept creation through the design and analysis phases and may also participate in the manufacturing, testing, and integration of the systems. Mechanical engineering utilizes a Systems Engineering approach to establish SE functional and performance requirements. SE engineering is involved in all phases of research and product lifecycle development starting with requirements, initial concepts, trade studies, early air vehicle design influence, design and development of the SE item, fabrication/procurement, engineering evaluation testing, verification, delivery of hardware, and support of delivered hardware.The successful candidate must:
Be responsible for their projects, preparing reports, and briefing leadership.
Communicate clearly and frequently within the program and outside with customer counterparts.
Represent the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.
Possess the ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment, including critical thinking and technical problem solving skills.
This job can be filled at either a level 3 or level 4.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.GBSDJobsQualifications:Basic Qualifications (Level 3):
BS degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or STEM discipline with 5 years of relatable work experience
Proficient with 3D design / 2D drawing CAD utilizing NX
Experience establishing product requirements, design of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical equipment
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite - Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
Preferred Qualifications (Level 3):
Master's Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or STEM discipline with 5 years of relatable work experience
Experience with Teamcenter
Hands on experience in equipment maintenance, fabrication, assembly, power, hand and measuring tools
Aerospace / ICBM maintenance experience
Knowledge in design of mechanical and electrical ICBM subsystems
Knowledge in the development of SE design solutions
Current DoD Secret clearance
ANSI/ASME Y14.5 GD&T
