Senior Electrical Engineer

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated senior electrical engineer with an electrical engineering and instrumentation & controls background to be based in the Denver, Colorado or Salt Lake City, Utah office, to support mining  projects and to help lead and build a team of electrical engineers to support mining projects.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Provides project leadership in the areas of instrumentation & controls, electrical engineering and design, investigations, analysis on multi-disciplinary mining projects.Serve as lead electrical engineer or discipline lead on mid- to large size projects.Coordinate and direct staff on designs, specifications, drawings, figures, reports and calculations on multi-discipline design efforts.Work with existing and potential clients to provide instrumentation & controls, electrical engineering and design solutions on mining projects.Develop project proposals and work with mining business leader to support and grow the Mining practice.Provides direction and mentoring to technical staff in completing project tasks.Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts.Presents complex technical solutions to clients.Performs independent technical reviews of engineering reports and design and signs off on work.Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering project, focusing on the electrical and Instrumentation and control designs of mine projects.Provides advice and consultation to clients on engineering matters, including compliance with government laws and regulations.Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on medium to large-sized projects.

About the Role: Structural Design: Manage the engineering, submission, and project management of structural designs, encompassing reinforcing, connections, and transportation and erection calculations. You will also review shop drawings and submittals and address any non-conformances or related issues. Structural Analysis: Perform analysis and design of precast structures, components, and connections, ensuring compliance with applicable building codes and specifications. Registration as a Professional Engineer and the ability to become registered in multiple states. Proficiency in AutoCAD, MathCAD, Concise, RISA-3D, or other precast concrete software. Experience with finite element analysis is considered a valuable asset. Familiarity with IBC, ASCE7, ACI318, PCI, AISC, AWS building codes, and specifications. Exceptional analytical, organizational, and proactive problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional, positive, and courteous manner in all interactions with customers and colleagues.
