The Underground Mining Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, optimization, and safe execution of underground mining operations. This role ensures productive, cost‑effective, and compliant extraction of ore while maintaining the highest standards of safety, ground control, and environmental stewardship.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and optimize underground mine layouts, including development, stoping, and infrastructure plansPrepare short‑ and long‑term mine plans, schedules, and production forecastsDevelop and assess mine development and production cycles from first principlesSupport drilling, blasting, ventilation, and haulage system design and performanceMonitor production performance and implement continuous improvement initiativesEnsure compliance with MSHA, local, and company safety, environmental, and operational standardsCollaborate with geology, operations, maintenance, and safety teamsPrepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and budget estimatesSupport capital project evaluations and implementationProvide technical guidance to operations personnel and junior engineers
