This position will report directly to the APM Global Sustainability Senior Director at our Wilmington, DE location or remote.As a US Food Contact Regulatory Compliance Expert, you will be part of a close-knit team of motivated and energetic professionals where you will contribute to our business success by providing subject matter expertise on product compliance, safety, and sustainability. You will be tasked with ensuring the business has information appropriate for decision making and managing work within a sustainability organization.The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Leading complex projects supporting our businesses focused on food contact materials and food contact substances, including new product development projects

Responding to regulatory compliance inquiries and performing periodic reviews and evaluations for raw materials and substances we utilize and products we offer, including issuing Declaration of Compliance (DoC) statements

Monitoring business and project activities to verify regulatory compliance deadlines and requirements, as well as business growth timelines, are met

Monitoring and communicating regulatory changes that impact Chemours products to the relevant internal partners

Collaborating with all internal partners to identify process improvement opportunities leading to automation or other efficiencies

Managing external service providers

Engaging with industry associations and regulatory agencies on regulatory compliance and/or advocacy topics as needed

Contributing to the development of regulatory recommendations and decisions to relevant stakeholders

Creating and delivering training to partners in the business unit to increase their regulatory awareness

The following is required for this role:

Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years work experience in the regulatory compliance field or chemical industry experience

Proven food contact substance/material regulatory compliance experience

Knowledge of chemical nomenclature and analytical chemistry analyses

Knowledge of US FDA Packaging & Food Contact Substances regulations (Title 21 Code of Federal Regulations Parts 170-190 and Food Contact Substance Notifications (FCN))

Ability to support a complex product portfolio for a global company

Excellent analytical skills and experience with data management

Excellent communication skills with a variety of audiences

Excellent project planning and project management skills

Ability to work well independently and as part of a team across country lines and time zones

Demonstrated attention to detail, drive for results, and ownership mentality

The following is preferred for this role:

Degree in chemistry, toxicology, or related field

Experience in the chemical industry or with fluorinated chemistries

Knowledge on migration calculations from materials into food

Experience working with US FDA Drug Master Files regulations and/or experience in the medical device industry

Experience working with Food Contact regulations in the EU, Mercosur, and other world areas

Experience with US Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) and other chemical management regulations in various world areas

Interest in expanding responsibilities in the regulatory compliance field
