1: 6+ years experience related to Information Systems Security Engineering (3 years with computer/engineering Bachelor's degree)
2: Certification (DoD 8140/8570) - Any one of: CISSP, Associate of CISSP, CCNA Security, CSA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP
3: US Citizenship (government-related work) : Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
4: Familiar with communications systems, including computer networking concepts, protocols (incl. TCP/IP), and security methodologies
5: Familiar with security engineering principles and processes
6: Aware of basic security engineering design patterns, processes, and technologies
7: Able to work in both group and individual settings under the direction, oversight, and mentoring of senior engineers
8: Ability to travel up to 25%

We are looking for a Senior Information Security Systems Engineer to be involved in the design and development of communication capabilities that enable the warfighter and save lives.


These communications systems range from small embedded devices to enterprise systems for airborne, ground, and/or nautical platforms.

The ISSE Analyst works with internal stakeholders (senior ISSEs, systems engineers, software engineers, and hardware engineers) as well as external stakeholders (customers, assessors, and authorization officials) to define, design, implement, verify, and obtain accreditation for both the systems themselves as well as any associated cryptographic products.


The ISSE must not only be technically astute but also possess excellent communications skills in order to clearly communicate technical status and potential issues to internal and external customers.

DESIRED (not required) SKILLS:
:: RF communications
:: Scripting languages and environments (Perl/Python, PowerShell, etc.) useful in automating system configuration and validating security mechanisms
:: IA vulnerability testing and related network and system test tools; e.g., Retina, NMap, Nessus, OSCAP, Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP)
:: Experience with matrixed development teams (hardware, software, systems engineers) and embedded systems engineering
:: Awareness of the NIST Risk Management Framework Assessment and Authorization process and the associated control catalog (NIST SP 800-37, 800-53)
:: JCIDS, DoDAF/TOGAF, RMF, CNSSI 1253, DJSIG, NIACAP, FIPS 140-2 or 140-3
:: High assurance crypto systems
:: Gov't advisory/assistance as SETA/A&AS contractor in Cybersecurity-related role
:: Agile development processes
:: Government compliance applications such as Xacta, and eMASS
:: Other security or technical certifications: CISSP, CISA, CISM, CEH, CPT, MCSE, CCNA, Red Hat, Network+, SANS GIAC, Security+, CCNA Security, CCNP Security, etc.
:: Experience with TEMPEST, Anti-Tamper, or other system security specialties
