Position Summary:The Assistant Closing Store Manager assists the manager in the day-to-day operation of the store. They assist with the responsibilities of maximizing store sales and profitability, while ensuring that the store is optimally stocked and merchandised and that all customers are provided with excellent customer service.Primary Position Duties:
The major responsibilities for this position include:
Assisting with the order
Preparing an order every Tuesday, including items featured on the Monthly Ad as well as seasonal items. Monitoring the order to check for items that are not necessary.
Unloading the truck every Thursday evening (must be available!)
Tags and signs for store product
Daily walk of the store to confirm pricing and making sure that items on display have a price displayed.
Building and maintaining store displays
Finding new ways to display product on end caps and keeping them full.
Display ad items on end caps to increase sales.
Scheduling and weekly reports
When called upon, be able to put together a schedule to meet the stores needs.
Prepare the bank deposit and input the weekly reports for corporate office.
Managing a team
Help increase the productivity of the staff by example. Learn to delegate responsibilities and find tasks for other employees to complete.
When the store manager is absent, be prepared to run the store and fill in.
Special Orders
Take charge of making sure that special order customers are taken care of each week. They are called and their items have been located.
Amaze every customer, every time
Must provide excellent customer service. Ask questions and help our guest find what they need. Be friendly and helpful.
Must have an understanding of product carried in the store, as well as special orders.
Willingness to learn how things work to provide better customer service in the future.
Enforce safety policies and procedures; is a safety role model

Position Requirements:
Experience: Some retail experience preferred
Skills/Knowledge: Strong leadership and analytical skills
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks with a high attention to detail
Knowledge of retail computer systems, MS Word and Excel a plus.
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business
Ability to stand for an extended period of time
Move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting and perform all functions as set forth
Education or Skills:High School Diploma.
