Job Coach - 1195 Summary: The Job Coach (VR and DSPD) helps our job seeking clients in preparing for and succeeding in the workplace. Job Coaches are responsible for assessing and evaluating barriers and challenges with individuals seeking employment opportunities. This includes working on life skills, developing work-related leads, transporting clients, coaching, teaching and mentoring them as they learn skills for increased independence and successful employment. Job Coaches also assist with interviews, applications and resume creation. This can be a full-time or part-time position. Minimum Qualifications :
Excellent communication skills
Highly organized with time and data
Current and active driver’s license
Shows compassion, flexibility, patience, positive attitude and provides excellent care
6 months experience working with people with disabilities or related field/experience
Must have reliable transportation and the ability to transport clients
Ability to obtain sponsored CPR/First Aid Certifications with 90 days of employment
Ability to obtain company-sponsored Workplace Supports Training within 90 days of employment
Ability to obtain company-sponsored SOAR certification within 180 days of employment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with mentoring coaching or teaching
1 year or more experience working with people with disabilities.
Responsibilities:
Promotes a positive work environment.
Evaluate client skills for lasting employment success
Assists clients with initial and ongoing job training
Helps the client fulfill job duties, including verbal prompts and redirection, as needed (instructional prompts, compensation strategies, etc.)
Provides transportation as needed
Facilitates communication between, and on behalf of employees and employers.
Responsible for communicating any needs, concerns, or questions to the appropriate parties including, team leads, managers, guardians, etc.
Conducts mock interviews
Helps client create and update their resume
Works with employers to match client and employer needs
Serves as a representative and first point of contact for OPPO to employers.
Advocates for client needs including any needed ADA accommodations
Keeps required certifications updated and maintains personal compliance
Ensures client follows all employer regulations, including clock-in and outs
Ensures the client is assisted in a manner that facilitates growth
Help clients prioritize daily tasks to the employers’ satisfaction.
Dresses professionally at all times conforming to the client's work location policies and needs
Assist clients to socially integrate into employment settings,and company culture and establish internal support structure.
Maintains accurate, daily documentation on client’s progress through company software including appropriate service codes relating to client funding.
Is flexible and comfortable with a wide variety of skill sets and client abilities and mannerisms
Is dependable, on time, and attends full shifts as assigned.
