Now hiring a full time lead bicycle tour guide to work in the Grand Canyon National Park at Bright Angel Bicycles for the 2019 Season which runs from March 1st through November 1st.

DETAILS:

Preferred applicants will have a minimum of 1 year experience working in the tour guide industry (previous job references required) as a guide and/or manager of same. Applicant must enjoy talking to customers from around the world and sharing the many wonders that make the Grand Canyon one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Applicant will train and maintain the quality of all guides working for Bright Angel Bicycles through regular performance reviews and training classes. Applicant who is over 25 years old and has a good driving record of 3 years is a plus. Excellent organizational and communication skills a plus.

This is a temporary/seasonal job. The 2019 season starts on Friday, March 8th. However, preferred applicants will be able to start work on Monday, February 25th, 2019.

WORK WEEK:

All employees are scheduled for a 5 days on and 2 days off work week. Schedule will average between 36 and 40 hours depending on business needs.

TIME OFF:

All employees are given two days off per week. Every effort will be made to schedule two back to back days off but is not guaranteed. Additional days off are possible with notice/request being submitted a minimum of 2 weeks in advance.

HOUSING:

Unless you can provide your own housing we require all employees be a minimum of 21 years old as of the first day of employment. This is because our housing is co-ed and we allow alcohol to be consumed.

Bright Angel Bicycle's employee houses are located within the park and each have up to 3 rooms, two full bathrooms, living room, kitchen/dining room and a washer and dryer. Each room can accommodate 2-3 employees. As mentioned above, all housing is co-ed. Sorry, but at this time we are unable to accommodate applicants with children. Also, we do not allow pets. Housing includes: beds, dressers, access to a shared closets, full kitchen rights with pots/pans/utensils, furnished living room area (no TV or Internet access anywhere in housing) and FREE use of washer/dryer units. Internet service is limited inside the park and phone access is best if you use Verizon or AT&T. Monthly rent is $180 which includes all utilities. There's a one time refundable $180 housing damage deposit which is collected off the first two paychecks. Deposits will be refunded after satisfactory inspections of living quarters upon departure.

WAGES:

Starting wage is $12.00 to $14.00 an hour (depending on experience), plus tips. Tips average $3.50 to $4.50 extra per hour of work.

(QBP) after initial probation of 60 days.

- Free loaner rental bike for use inside park boundary.

- Earned sick pay up to 40 hours per season.

REQUIREMENTS UPON HIRE:

- Must be a US citizen or possess Permanent Resident Green Card. NOTICE: We participate in the national

E-Verify program.

- Must be 21 years old on first day of work or upon moving into housing.

- Completion of Bright Angel Bikes & Cafe training within 30 days after first day of employment.

- Learn details of Grand Canyon park operations (hotels,restaurants,viewpoints,hiking info, etc.) to provide

accurate information to park visitors within 30 days after first day of employment.

- All guides, drivers and managers must have or obtain CPR certifications and complete community first aid

course within 30 days after first day of employment. Bright Angel Bicycles will provide and pay for this training.

- All guides, drivers and managers are subject to mandatory drug tests within 30 days of employment and possible random tests during the season.

- All new employees are subject to a 60 day probationary period.
