Job Description:Primary Children’s Hospital and the Pediatric Behavioral Health Service Line are eager to recruit a full time Mental Health Therapist to our Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit at our Wasatch Canyons Campus. This positions offers an exciting opportunity for a master’s-prepared clinician to join a multidisciplinary team, providing excellent, state-of-the art care to patients from all over the state and beyond.On the Inpatient unit, the Mental Health Therapist fills the primary role of defining the psychosocial formulation for each patient. This formulation is then used to provide individualized and evidenced based treatment to patients and families. This work includes individual therapeutic engagement with the patient as well as delivery of crisis-focused family therapy. The therapy team on our unit delivers a daily process group to our patients, provides guidance to behavioral health milieu and nursing staff regarding important areas of focus for each patient, and collaborates with care planners to make necessary referrals to ensure a safe and robust plan for aftercare is in place prior to discharge.External candidates are eligible for a $2500 sign-on bonusPosition DetailsThis position will work day shifts on the Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit. Hours are approximately 9-5. Weekends and Holidays may be required and are assigned on a rotating basis.Minimum QualificationsMaster's Degree. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.Current State of Utah Licensure as a LCSW, CSW, CMHC or ACMHC.Computer Skills, i.e., email, word processing.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience with patients, families, and treatment teams.Physical Requirements:Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.and -
Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.and -
Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.and -
Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).and -
