Parking Lot Attendant/Cashier/Valet
UVM Medical Center is hiring a Parking Lot attendant/cashier/valet in Burlington, VT
Compensation: $12/hour
Principal Job Duties:
- Files guests' keys/tickets systematically to insure efficient retrieval of guests' vehicles.
- Ensures files properly reflect the location of all vehicles parked on the valet lot.
- Maintains an ongoing inventory board.
- Ensures parking tickets have been completed correctly by the Valet Attendant.
- Maintain records of total cars parked and delivered by each attendant and overall totals for the day.
- Responsible for money handling of a cash drawer and accountability for those funds through audits.
- Lead employees to meet the expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.
Must Haves:
MUST be willing to work weekends if necessary.
Must be willing to stand for extended periods of time.
Working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Must be willing to undergo a criminal background check.
Experience in customer service and the parking industry preferred.
Must have reliable transportation.
Experience:
- Strong customer service experience.
- Parking industry experience is preferred but not required
- Prior cashier/money handling experience is preferred.
- Prior knowledge of the hospitality industry preferred.
Skills:
- Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with issues.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
- Exceptional organization skills and detail-oriented.
- Must be able to multi-task.
- Math skills required to provide accurate change.
- Must be computer literate.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to function in a work environment with moderate noise level from several sources creating constant activity.
