The Stowe Tennis Club is seeking a qualified coordinator/director for our summer tennis program. Prior experience in sports, camp environments, and/or education is expected, a passion for tennis encouraged but not required. The Junior Program Coordinator will be responsible for producing the program, managing staff, handling communications and schedules, and ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all. The 8-week program starts June 17th and ends on August 9th, running in the afternoons from Monday to Friday at approximately 12pm until 5pm. The mission of the program is to develop the next generation of tennis players, teach the fundamentals of the sport and sportsmanship, and encourage a life-long enjoyment of tennis.

This program coordinator will be responsible for ages 4 through 18, as broken out into three groups:

-> Core Junior Program: Ages 8-14, Monday through Friday from 1-4:00 pm with scheduled match play on Fridays. Daily schedule breakout: 1:00-3:00 pm on-court tennis program, 300-400 pm pool swimming or open rec time.

->Future Stars Program: Ages 4-7, Tuesday through Thursday 3:15-5:00 pm. Daily schedule breakout into two 45 minute classes by age: 4-5 year olds followed by 6-7 year olds.

-> High School Practice: Qualified high school players who currently play or plan to play competitively on a high school tennis team or other competitive team, Tuesdays 5:30-7:00 pm.

The Junior Program Coordinator will be expected to:

-> Finalize all hiring

-> Coordinate a schedule for the summer

-> Drive weekly planning sessions starting in February through the program’s start

-> Coordinate with Top Notch Pros to manage coverage and weekly plans

-> Schedule 4-6 matches with area tennis clubs

-> Structure an age appropriate framework for learning ensuring age/level organization, appropriate staff/player ratio and continued enhancements to the ongoing program delivery

-> Manage registration, pricing, number of participants, staff/counselor ratio, Code of Conduct, rules and behavioral expectations

-> Oversee staff training one week prior to the beginning of the program

-> Ensure a well organized program execution, including but not limited to:

- Coordinate daily routine including tennis and afternoon swimming

- Structured staff schedules

- Mentoring the team to deliver a delightful experience to all participants

- Fostering a spirit of community and a love of tennis

- Coordinating uniform and new equipment purchases

- Procuring prizes and trophies for the final week that meets prescribed budget

- Ensuring effective communication with parents, including weather cancellations and scheduling changes

- Addressing behavioral issues and enforcing Code of Conduct, as well as escalating issues appropriately to the club manager and affected families

- Updating social media presence
