It is the mission of Labcorp’s Corporate Supply Chain Operations Department Logistics team to engage those components of Labcorp’s Strategic plan that rely on or are affected by any phase of the Logistics operation. The Corporate Logistics team promote operational efficiency between operating divisions as a champion of Best Practices and the application of the Logistics Technology available.

Our primary goals include: SOP and process standardization, creating and maintaining training materials relevant to the technologies utilized, creating and analyzing impactful metrics, utilization of the available technology to create route efficiencies and ensure the appropriate specimen flow into our branches and labs.

Internship Assignment Summary:

The intern would report directly to the Logistics Technology Manager in the Supply Chain department with dotted lines to team members based on project. Goal would be to expose the intern to as many team members and labcorp professionals as possible during their time in the department. The Intern will gain valuable experience that will help develop their decision regarding a future career path in the healthcare industry.

Work in support of Labcorp’s Transportation Management Software with project possibilities in data and/or cost analysis, training and competency documentation, and process improvement.

Assist in evaluating best practices for routing optimizations utilizing the Transportation Management software.

Other duties as assigned.

Some limited Domestic travel may be required.

Education/Qualifications/Skills:

Working towards a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Project Management, or related Health Care field

Ability to work with others in a team environment

Demonstrates strong communication skills

Demonstrates ability to identify and recommend processes improvements

Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style

Excellency in organizational, time management and decision-making/problem-solving skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
