IT Support/Field Technician

Description We are currently seeking an experienced IT Support/Field Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will serve as a conduit between our technical team and our customers, providing top-tier support and field service. This role calls for someone skilled in both help desk support and field work, capable of setting up and testing internet connections, installing IT equipment and training users.Responsibilities:

Provide a mix of help desk support and desktop support/field work.

Set up and test Internet connections at varying locations such as public dealerships and auto repair shops.

Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot associated end user workstation software and hardware, networked peripheral devices, and networking hardware products.

Deliver technical customer support over the phone, identifying, researching, and resolving technical issues.

Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future hardware and corporate technology needs.

Support the company's future vision by consistently updating your knowledge of emerging tools and trends in tech, particularly in the field of IT.

Train end-users on how to operate the new technologies, ensuring they're comfortable and adept at using them.

Working Conditions: This position requires both fieldwork and office work. The successful candidate will need to balance time spent in the office, providing phone support, and time out in the field at client sites. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.Requirements

Relevant tertiary qualification in IT or related field

Proven experience in IT support or field work

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Ability to communicate technical information, both verbal and written, to a wide range of end-users

Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Must be able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

Strong understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives

Possess a driving license as driving to different locations is a key part of the role.
