SUMMARY OF POSITION

The General Maintenance & Housekeeping person will be responsible for maintaining campus property to include assisting with set-ups, locking/unlocking buildings, answering calls for assistance, maintaining logs, monitoring heating systems, small repairs, painting, and basic housekeeping as needed. The person in this position will work with a team and should also confer with the Building and Grounds Supervisor, the Executive Director, and other facility and Greenway personnel when necessary to ensure the facility is properly maintained. They will also assist in the setup of events on the campus as required.

SCHEDULE

Monday through Friday

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide Campus Relations duties to residents, tenants, and guests including lockouts.

Answer calls on a priority basis and report the daily progress to the Buildings and Grounds Supervisor.

Provide utility services including cleaning up spills, shoveling snow and removing ice.

Setting up classrooms and meeting rooms as needed.

Basic housekeeping when needed, including scrubbing/waxing floors, carpet cleaning, replacing light bulbs, window washing and deep cleaning offices.

General maintenance as necessary or requested.

Work closely with campus events coordinators to ensure timely setups.

Contacting supervisors for situations that require management decisions.

Deep cleaning of Campus buildings, including dusting, upholstery cleaning, carpet cleaning, vacuuming and removing trash and recycling.

Keeping walkways maintained during winter months

Checking boilers on a scheduled basis to ensure proper operation

Locking and unlocking campus buildings.

Maintaining logs.

Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma and/or GED is preferred.

Must pass a background check.

Familiarity with procedures for corrective and preventative maintenance.

Knowledge of use of hand tools for various applications.

Must be able to read, write and understand English.

Must complete all company training as required.

Hospitality experience is a plus but not required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk or hear, and taste and smell. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to fi nger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 30 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specifi c vision abilities include close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

COMPENSATION

This hourly position is open now with an immediate start date. Starting hourly rate range is: $15 to $20/hour.
