Hot Air Balloon - Ground Crew and Flight Hosts

Do you like adventure, variety, and making dreams come true? We are adding a few members to our ground support team this season! No experience in this field necessary (and in fact, almost preferred). Flight times are approximately either 5am-9am for sunrise flight and 5:30pm-9:30pm for sunset flights. These times adjust as the sunrise/sunset times change.

For most of our team members this is NOT a full time job, although it could be if the right person wanted it to be.

We book flights 7 days a week at the times listed above. We do NOT fly all of those slots due to weather or no bookings.

You will only offer to work on the flight windows which fit your schedule. Most crew members work this around another job, school, or retirement schedules.

Our season runs June through October 20, 2024

We are looking for two roles: Ground Crew and Flight Host.

Both of these roles take place from the ground. You will likely get a balloon ride by the end of the season if you wish, but the job does not take place in the air.

Ground Crew candidates must be:

-reliable

-punctual (this is not a job you can call out of as each team member plays an important role)

-able to work as a team

-able to follow directions

-lift 25#-75#

Ground Crew candidates to the front of the line who can:

-back up a 20' enclosed trailer (no CDL required)

-stay on through 20 October 2024

Flight Host must be:

-able to drive a 15-passenger van, sometimes in the dark - no special license needed

-pleasant

-detail oriented

-enjoy working with people

-reliable

-punctual (this is not a job you can call out of as each team member plays an important role)

-able to work as a team and independently

Flight Host candidates to the front of the line who are:

- comfortable processing payments on an Apple iOS system

-Can take a decent picture with their cell phone

-work well on the fly and when hiccups or curveballs

-comfortable guiding people through the flight experience from check-in to champagne toast

The pay structure is a base rate per flight. Plus gratuities.

Hourly pay works out to approximately $35-$55 an hour.

At the end of season, the average hourly rate for most crew members works out to be in the middle of those numbers.

Please send us an email with any a little information about yourself and why you think you'd be a good fit.

Or if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask for clarification about anything.
