Tangleroot Farm is a 2-acre market garden in the Adirondack Park in Upstate New York. On the shores of Lake Champlain we grow a large diversity of Certified Organic produce for local farmers markets, restaurants, grocery stores and a 100 member CSA. We focus on low-till practices and integrative systems to keep quality of food and life high. Our goal is to feed as many people as possible while improving our soils, environment and community.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for someone to take the reigns in both our Greenhouse and Wash/pack station this year. While both positions will also participate in the field work throughout the week including planting, cultivating, trellising, pruning and harvesting, the main focus of the people in these positions will center around the propagation houses and the wash/pack area respectively. Prop house operator will be responsible for all seeding, potting, and watering done in the prop houses. The wash/pack manager will be responsible for all produce leaving the farm as well as receiving and filling orders from wholesale customers, packing CSA boxes, and maintaining inventory in the cooler.
-must be able to lift 50lbs
-must be able to work in all weather conditions. very hot-very cold
-previous manual labor experience preferred
-previous farm experience strongly preferred
-must be comfortable working in groups and alone
-must have valid drivers license
COMPENSATION
this position is : hourly, varies DOE, $13.00 - $15.00
