Hello! My family is looking to hire a full time nanny for our 4 and 6 year old kids. More than just the usual adorable, our kids are genuinely hilarious, fun-loving, and precocious. They are kind and thoughtful with the average level of naughty thrown in for good measure. Our kids enjoy crafting, baking, outdoor and science play, reading, and going on lots of adventures and outings.
Our child raising philosophies are centered on respect, connection, and autonomy. We believe âdisciplineâ means to âteachâ not to threaten or punish. Our home is not kid-centered, it is person-centered, and we believe kids are people, too.
Our children are homeschooled and we are looking for a nanny who can be involved with and excited about taking them to educational events, playgroups and playdates with our friends, and who will be comfortable following a model of play based learning and child-led interests. There will be little in the way of curriculum or workbooks and more along the lines of hands on play and experimentation in nature, art, and life.
Hours will be Tues-Thurs (roughly 10 hour days) and Fridays as needed. Estimated hours per week is 30-35. The position will include some light housekeeping and meal prep. At this time we are only considering applicants who are able to make a commitment for at least one year. You will need to have your own reliable transportation, and be comfortable in a variety of environments with a variety of people. We will ask for references and a background check. Pay is $12-15/hr depending upon experience.
