Role Overview
The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth plant operations through mechanical and electrical maintenance. Under the supervision of the Maintenance Team Leader, this role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment and facility infrastructure. This position is ideal for a hands-on problem solver with a strong mechanical or electrical background.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on plant machinery and equipment
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical issues
Maintain accurate maintenance records and document completed work orders
Promote and enforce safety standards and good housekeeping practices
Assist with installation and calibration of new equipment
Support emergency maintenance and plant shutdowns when needed
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
What You Bring
Technical Skills: Experience in mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical maintenance in a manufacturing setting
Problem-Solving Ability: Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve equipment issues efficiently
Communication Skills: Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions in English
Attention to Detail: Capability to follow technical specifications, blueprints, and schematic drawings
Team-Oriented Mindset: Positive attitude and collaborative spirit
Preferred: Experience with PLC systems or drive work is a plus
Education & Certifications
High School diploma or GED required
Certifications in Electrical, Mechanical, or HVAC are highly desirable
Exposure to Lean Sigma principles is a plus
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Must be comfortable working in an industrial environment with noise and warm temperatures
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (10+ hours per shift)
Frequent bending, stooping, and lifting (up to 55 lbs.) is required
Must wear all required safety equipment while on duty
