2nd Shift Line Stocker

OVERVIEW: The 2nd Shift Warehouse Stocker restocks materials for the following day’s production lines. He/she may also conduct a variety of additional activities from parts painting to cycle counting and inventory management. This position reports to and works closely with the Production Manage but is directed daily by the 2nd Shift Lead.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Organizes and oversees material movements through team’s use of forklifts and jack tools.

- Breaks down and clears production lines, ensuring accurate and efficient storage and accounting of materials.

- Restocks production lines according to planned and changing production needs.

- Works closely with the team to update and ensure optimal line layouts for all materials.

- Strives for accurate inventory control; recognizes and follows through to resolve inventory discrepancies and make

adjustments in PSA/ERP system; conducts various administrative tasks associated with managing material flow.

- Adheres to a continuous improvement mindset while seeking operational and organizational efficiencies.

- Paints and/or preps parts as needed.

- Supports cycle counts as needed; assists in ad hoc inventory projects such as legacy parts and pallet consolidation

- Assists in receiving after-hour deliveries as needed.

- Operates forklift safely at all times- ensuring forklift safety practices and protocols are followed and equipment is

maintained.

- Carries out any other projects/activities as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

- Current or Previous certification in forklift use

- Experienced in inventory organization; knowledgeable in use of bar code systems

- Accomplished in follow-through on projects- seeing multiple priorities and details to satisfactory completion with an

appropriate sense of urgency and accountability

- Oriented toward systems thinking and continuous improvement processes; experienced or familiar with principles of

Lean Manufacturing and 5S.

- Strong sense of teamwork and effective in communications- including oral, written, and interpersonal

- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe work environment; at a minimum, familiar with appropriate OSHA

standards and in managing workplace hazards

- Able to become respirator certified for painting operations.

- Knowledgeable in basic technical/mechanical aptitudes- Able to read & interpret documents such as manuals,

instructions, diagrams, and product sheets; capable of utilizing hand tools for repair operations

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

Preference for some experience in forklift operation and general warehouse/stocking role.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires occasional lifting of up to 45 pounds; with regular lifting of approximately 20 lbs. Requires frequent body movement – walking & standing for long periods, stretching, reaching, bending. Subject to loud noise, moving machinery, and physical hazards. Must be able to spot emerging safety hazards. Safety equipment/proper clothing must be used appropriately.
