The Clarina Howard Nichols Center is seeking an Advocate for 30-40 hours/week to provide services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence in our shelter and the community.

Responsibilities include:

• Crisis support on the phone and in-person including emotional support, safety planning and referrals

• Court advocacy including assisting with filing Relief from Abuse Orders and accompaniment to court

• Accompaniment to social service appointments

• Assistance with completing housing applications and maintaining housing resources

• Outreach presentations and representing the organization at meetings and events

• Ensuring compliance with program policies, funding requirements, and best practices

Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in human services related field or equivalent experience, prior domestic/sexual violence advocacy experience, strong problem-solving and limit-setting skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, commitment to upholding confidentiality, and experience with data collection and documenting work. Must be available to work some evenings and weekends.
