The Vermont Center for Independent Living, a statewide disability rights organization is seeking a candidate for the position: Education Transition Coordinator.
The successful candidate will possess excellent training, development, presentation and communication skills. Ideal candidate will have experience educating in school-based learning. The position requires working with high school and early college aged students with disabilities in high school and college settings in Vermont, statewide.
Ideal candidate will have knowledge in disability rights, independent living philosophy, and skills in curriculum development, training and education, understanding of IEP and 504 process. Candidate will be working in school settings providing trainings to groups of students and one-on-one support. Coordinator will participate on the statewide Pathways to Partnership Project working together with partners to work to enhance transition services for students with disabilities.
Office location negotiable either in Montpelier, Brattleboro or Rutland office. Travel and in person meeting including school-based education is required. This position is 37.50 hours per week and rate of pay is $20 per hour.
Vermont Center for Independent Living offers a generous benefit package including annual time off: 15.5 holidays, 10 vacation days(once accrued and increases with years of service), 10 sick days and 3 personal days. This is a fulltime, temporary position that will end in June 2028.
