The Accountant is responsible for managing the accountancy related functions of the business. Real Property Management Sterling relies on the Accountant to demonstrate leadership and create trust with owners and tenants and to instill confidence in our services by creating and directing world-class accounting processes.
Accountant is highly analytical and organized with strong time management skills and an understanding of prioritization. Naturally driven to provide excellent customer service and to instill trust, the Accountant is a natural communicator, with good negotiation skills, the ability to work independently, impeccable integrity, and a professional demeanor.
Essential Responsibilities include:
Accounts Payable, including maintaining vendors
Accounts Receivable
Performing monthly client bank reconciliations
Performing monthly trust accountant reconciliations
Preparing monthly financial statements
Preparing annual 1099s
Collecting past due rents
Posting monthly client statements to owners' portal
Preparing deposits and posting rent payments to tenant ledgers
Assisting Leasing Agent and Property Manager in returning security deposits
Posting fees to owner and tenant accounts
Preparing monthly owner draws
Recording payroll transactions
Assisting in answering the phone
Other duties as assigned
