Overview

A growing local home inspection business is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional to lead and manage a new, dedicated chimney inspection division. This role is ideal for a certified individual looking for competitive, performance-based pay and the significant opportunity to grow a sector of the business into a full-time management position.

Given the thriving real estate market in Vermont, we anticipate this role growing quickly from a part-time to a full-time position.

Responsibilities:

Lead Chimney Inspections: Independently perform thorough Level 2 Chimney Inspections (and Level 1 as needed) in accordance with CSIA and NFPA standards.

Division Management & Growth: Take ownership of the division's growth, including scheduling, reporting, equipment management, and quality control.

Documentation: Create professional, detailed inspection reports, including high-quality photography and clear documentation of all findings.

Inspection Assistance: Assist lead property inspectors with other residential and commercial property inspections when chimney inspection scheduling allows.

Client Relations: Provide exceptional customer service, clearly explaining findings and recommendations to clients, real estate agents, and referral partners.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Certification (Required): Current certification as a Certified Chimney Sweep® (CCS®) from the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA) or equivalent applicable license.

T4 licensed with Vermont

Experience: Proven experience in chimney sweeping, cleaning, and performing comprehensive chimney inspections.

Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of NFPA 211 and the International Residential Code (IRC) related to chimneys, fireplaces, and venting systems.

Professionalism: Excellent communication skills, a high level of integrity, and a professional demeanor.

Physical Demands: Ability to safely climb ladders, work on roofs, and navigate tight spaces.

License & Transport: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
