Primary Purpose and Essential Functions: Thoroughly inspect all diesel related issues on company equipment, perform truck (tractor) safety and general maintenance related repairs, assist with major repairs in coordination with other mechanics, and use basic electrical diagnostics to repair electrical systems.
1. Complete advanced preventative maintenance inspections on tractor equipment in compliance with DOT regulations
2. Thoroughly understand basic tractor maintenance, diagnosis, and repair, root causes of common issues, and corrective steps to keep trucks running at maximum efficiency.
3. Recognize and identify, non-diesel specific related repair or maintenance items (trailer, tires, etc); Ensure the issue is fixed by appropriate personnel in a timely manner
4. Assist current shop personnel as needed to create a cohesive and well-rounded shop environment centered around learning.
5. Assist in the moving of equipment around the yard
6. Maintain a clean and safe work area compliant with OSHA and company regulation and policy
7. Maintain a positive work atmosphere through actions and communications
8. Perform additional duties as required
We prefer the right candidate to have some heavy equipment/commercial vehicle maintenance related experience. CDL license NOT required but is preferred.
Hours: 11:00 am to 8:00 pm plus some Saturday's 7:00 to 12:00
Compensation will be based on your experience level.
