Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Controller near the Northfield, Vermont area. The successful candidate will be involved in a wide range of tasks, including maintaining the accounting system, managing accounting policies and procedures, and overseeing internal controls over accounting transactions. This role is crucial within the team and requires someone with a high level of organization and attention to detail.Responsibilities: Manage the maintenance of an effective accounting system Oversee and enhance internal controls over accounting transactions Develop and implement robust accounting policies and procedures Supervise the chart of accounts and ensure its orderly management Conduct regular auditing to ensure compliance and accuracy Take responsibility for accounts payable and accounts receivable Oversee budget processes and ensure they are carried out efficiently Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closings Generate ad hoc reports as required Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Auditing, Budget Processes, Month End Close, Year End Closings, and Ad Hoc Reporting.Requirements Demonstrated proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management. Proven experience with auditing practices and principles. Familiarity with budget processes and financial forecasting. Ability to handle Month End Close and Year End Closings efficiently and accurately. Experience in creating Ad Hoc Reporting for various financial scenarios. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
