SUMMARY : The Technical Services Specialist provides a high-level technical support to sales, operations, and customers. Supports the development of bid materials by working with sales managers. The incumbent works closely with customer service and operations staff in coordinating processes to ensure acceptance and disposal of waste. Works with multiple departments to determine proper, safe and legal treatment of hazardous waste. Supports customers and builds a regular and direct rapport with customers; serving as a direct extension to the sales and customer service teams.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Acts as initial contact for customers regarding the company’s waste treatment and disposal services.

Meets with customers to discuss account, present disposal options, or assist during audits.

Communicates and answers questions related to waste acceptance capabilities, disposal options, and range of pricing.

Coordinates communications to respond to customers’ inquiries.

Assists and advises customer service representatives.

Works closely with sales team to propose customer solutions compliant with appropriate local, state and federal regulations.

Develops and maintains customer pricing files.

Works with the corporate marketing team to provide marketing support for sales efforts.

Works with sales team to identify new opportunities and retain existing business.

Assists customers with testing parameters and proper completion of profiles, manifests and

forms.

Assists and advises customers in evaluating chemical analysis to determine disposal options.

Performs project work including, but not limited to: logistics, billing, and systems implementation.

Performs other, related duties as assigned. These are duties may not be specifically listed in this description, but which are within the general nature typically associated with the employee’s level of work.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA)

Building a rapport with associates and managers; detail oriented, with a high level of accuracy and the ability to detect inconsistencies in data. Knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint applications is essential. Knowledgeable waste characterization principles and practices including analysis and evaluation, waste processing protocols, and transportation regulations. Required skills include presenting findings in a concise format; addressing difficult situations in a constructive manner; utilizing computer technology for communication, data gathering and reporting; negotiation and problem solving.

Knowledge of RCRA as it relates to waste characterization and waste processing protocols. Familiarity with DOT regulations.

Knowledge of the MS Office Suite. Ability to identify trends and data patterns. Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects. Ability to work within a team environment and handle multiple assignments simultaneously.

Knowledge and understanding of RCRA, DOT, TSCA, and other applicable regulations, typically gained through two or more years of progressively responsible experience in waste disposal, chemistry, or a related field. Superior knowledge of the USE software package as it relates to waste streams and reporting. Thorough understanding of treatment capabilities of 3rd party vendors and how to properly direct applicable waste streams.
