Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the Real Estate industry located in Arlington, Virginia. The role involves a wide range of accounting responsibilities, from maintaining financial records to providing financial analysis. This is a crucial role that requires close collaboration with various departments such as Property Management and Operations.Responsibilities: Execute property management accounting functions and budgeting/forecasting Prepare and manage journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations Oversee the administration and management of lease agreements, including lease abstracts, lease renewals, terminations, and amendments Ensure accurate recording and reporting of all lease-related financial transactions, including rental payments and lease incentives Conduct thorough financial analysis and lease reconciliations to verify accuracy of tenant billings and operating expenses Execute accounts payable, cash management, and debt service payment functions Assist with preparing tax returns and annual budgets Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits to provide accurate and organized documentation Analyze contracts to apply appropriate accounting methods and record appropriate expenses on a monthly basis Stay updated on relevant accounting standards, financial regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance with legal and accounting requirements Identify opportunities for process enhancements, automation, and system implementations to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency.Requirements 3+ years of accounting experience; some Real Estate experience or property accounting experience required.
