The Cellar Restaurant, one of Blacksburgs oldest and most popular establishments, is looking to expand our BoH staff entering a busy warm season. Were currently seeking one or more prep cooks for part or full time employment, starting at $10 hourly.
Our prep shifts begin at 6 AM and end around noon, depending on business. Our daily tasks involve making our dough, soups, stews, chili, sauces, dips, and specials from scratch; cleaning and cutting fruit, vegetables, cheeses, poultry, meat, and fish.
The position were looking to fill is entry-level, so no prior restaurant or kitchen experience is required (although it is desirable); new hires will be well-paid while they learn basic cooking, cleaning, and knife skills. Experienced cooks will also find a home here, quality soupmakers in particular are always welcome.
The biggest thing I'm looking for in a cook is reliability. Guys (and gals) who can show up on time, work diligently, and cooperate with the rest of the prep team.
