We are currently looking to hire part-time and/or full-time personal attendant/caregivers for our 30 year old daughter with disabilities (cerebral palsy, deafness) in our home. Individuals must be reliable, detail-oriented, empathetic and compassionate.
Our daughter is a very good-natured, social girl who loves to watch videos, enjoys social setting with others, and enjoys going rides in her handicap van as well as walks in her wheelchair around the neighborhood.
This is an ideal job/experience opportunity for individuals with any of the following vocational interests and backgrounds (nursing, speech therapy, occupational therapy, special education, physical therapy, etc.). The program is state-funded and managed by Medicaid.
Hours of coverage: (somewhat flexible, but targets are as follows).
Daily hours 8:30 a.m. 5:30 p.m.
Respite care (to be determined based on caregiver and family schedules for extended days, weekend coverages, evenings, etc.)
Duties include:
Provide companionship and activity supervision
Assist in lifting and transfer in/out of wheelchair (we have lift device)
Assist in food preparation and feeding
Assist in personal hygiene and care (i.e., diapering, bathing, clothing, laundry, etc.)
Candidate requirements:
Valid drivers license
18 years or older
Open to state background check
