Horse Farm seeks great Grounds and Maintenance person, flexible daytime schedule, PT ideally 30ish hours a week. It is easy for us to work around a school schedule if you are a student. Tasks include: SAFE and SMART operation of lawn mower and weed eater; fence repair; light maintenance; various manual tasks including unloading horse feed and hauling bedding to stalls. Must be able to use (and return in pristine condition) the tools, hand tools and mechanical tools and equipment, needed to do these jobs. Skill with tractor and implement operation is a plus.
This might be the right fit for you if you think a flame thrower is fun and you like to solve problems.
If you prefer full time and have horse experience we can make that work by adding some direct horse care responsibilities.
For this position: Demonstrated ability to follow directions. Must be able to lift and carry 55 pounds. Must be able to coordinate with (a mostly female) staff and be respectful of the farm owner (he is a fabulous, intelligent and hard working senior age gentleman who will sometimes want you to work with him on projects). Clean driving record and current valid license, and can pass a background check. Good communication and trustworthy is a must. Tobacco Free environment. It's a farm, you gotta have experience.
This is outside work, rain or shine. You will need to be very self directed (yes, this means we won't do much supervision just checking into the final work product) and able to efficiently work from a list. Own a pair of gloves!
