The perfect candidate has a vested interest in art, glassmaking, and studio maintenance. Basic tasks include customer service, office keeping, recieving and documenting phone calls.
Deeper tasks will involve working in the Glassblowing studio, creating artwork to sell, maintaining the facility and shop building. These skills can be taught as a part of your occupation.
Being good with your hands and being able to entertain people of all types is a necessary quality.
The ideal candidate will be ready to evolve into an instructor. Instructors can earn an extra $25 per half-hour class.
Employees are given four hours of personal shop time to make items they may sell wherever they want. Items sold in the studio earn 75% of the sticker price, to the artist.
Base pay is $15 an hour. Three days a week, 8 hours a day.
Personality is key to this line of work. Be enthusiastic about the arts and completing simple tasks equally. At all times, the right person will reflect well to the guests in the studio and at the GreenBrier.
