Responsibilities held by the Staff Accountant include the preparation of monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. This position will require a fair amount of time dedicated to producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. During the monthly close, you'll also be charged with various aspects of internal reporting. In addition, your responsibilities include communicating with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, playing an active role in compliance, and reviewing schedules for the reporting processes.What you get to do every day
Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner
Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision
Requirements - Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Journal Entry experience
Account reconciliation experience
Bank reconciliations experience
General ledger experience
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
ERP system experience
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
