Responsibilities

Peraton is currently looking for a Outside Plant Network Engineer for the Armys $500M Product Manager (PM) Defense Communications and Army Transmission Systems (DCATS) Outside Plant (OSP) Capability Set. The Installation Information Infrastructure Modernization Program (I3MP) implementation requirement is to Engineer, Furnish, Install, Secure, and Test (EFIS&T) and document a turn-key solution to modernize the OSP distribution systems. This program employs engineers and technicians across multiple partner companies in the sustainment of a CONUS operation. The PM serves as the contractor's contract manager, and is authorized interface with the Government Contracting Officer (CO), the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), Government management personnel and customer agency representatives. The PM is responsible for formulating and enforcing work discrepancies, supervising contractor personnel and communicating policies, purposes, and goals of the organization to subordinates.

General Responsibiliities:

Designs and plans network communications systems. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Conducts cost/benefit analysis and provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network design. Responsible for monitoring network hardware operations to ensure properly set configuration options. Plans implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network. Advises network users of hardware requirements, configurations, and limitations. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network. May be assigned responsibility for the management of the systems administration function, including associated staff. Candidate willfocus on providing Outside Plant (OSP) engineering site survey analysis, engineering design, and preparation of final engineering drawings and change orders as required.
