University Baptist Church is looking for a talented financial secretary to join the administrative team. This part-time position will be 20-25 hours per week at a rate of $17-20 per hour. The financial secretary will ensure accurate reporting of all money coming in and going out of the church. This person must be detail oriented and computer literate. Responsibilities:
Record receipts and disbursements using QuickBooks software and maintain supporting documentation
Record offerings and other financial gifts, send acknowledgement information where needed, and prepare confidential contributions statements on a quarterly basis
Prepare checks and electronic payments in conformity with established expenditure controls
Manage payroll disbursement and required tax reporting, including processing state & federal payroll deposits, insurance, and retirement contributions
Use existing financial processes developed for UBC
- Assist with budget preparation process
Interface with contributors on offering contribution issues as needed
Generate periodic financial reports for congregational leaders to facilitate budget management
.-Complete monthly reconciliations and provide information to the Finance Committee as provided for in the church policies
-Perform general office functions such as member, visitor, and vendor interface
Participate and contribute to a weekly staff meeting
Periodically attend church activities to have the opportunity to interface with church participants
Requirements:
Experience with QuickBooks is required
Experience with MS Office applications including Word and Excel is required
Experience with general church database software packages such a Realm is desirable
Ability to be Bonded
