POSITION SUMMARY:

A FoH Supervisor will work under the direction of the F&B Director in supervising the front of house business for a la carte, banquet, special events and wedding business in our full-service restaurant. He/she will be able to build positive relationships with members and guests through effective listening and verbal skills and creatively find ways to problem solve. Using experience, flexibility, high energy, and positivity, an effective FoH Supervisor will act as a leading member of our team to meet and exceed goals and customer expectations and be able to maintain a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals that enter our dynamic restaurant.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

● Assist the Food & Beverage Director in managing day to day lunch & dinner shifts, inventory monitoring, performance of facility/ shift opening and closing duties, as well as control/monitor quality of products and service.

● Oversee FoH operations including supervision of all FoH staff to ensure the highest level of member & guest service in accordance with policies and procedures.

● Greet & seat customers, support service staff by filling in where needed to take food/drink orders, and deliver food promptly when ready.

● Maintain knowledge of our full menu to be able to communicate clearly various specials, meal suggestions, drink pairings, as well as to properly answer food preparation questions, keeping in mind to always look for the opportunity to “upsell” products.

● Perform equipment checks, ensure appropriate equipment is available as needed, check to ensure staff work areas are properly stocked, and inspect work stations and equipment to ensure that staff is keeping it clean and sanitized to standards before, during, and after shifts.

● Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed when transporting, boxing, or making any kind of food or beverage products and ensure proper dating is done on all products under the FoH area of responsibility.

● Maintain knowledge of and monitor compliance with all standards and, through leadership and example, encourage the highest level of member service.

● Demonstrate the ability to interact with members, guests, and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner.

● Step up and fill in as needed in any FoH role in order to ensure the success of each interaction with customers and the restaurant’s overall success.

● Know, understand, and consistently apply safety rules, operation policies and standards, and shift working guidelines to customers (as applicable) and all F&B staff members.

● Know and review all emergency procedures and respond to emergency situations in accordance with policies and procedures; complete related reports as required.

● Maintain accurate records as required by the F&B Director and state health department code.

● Attend and assist with all staff meetings and in-service trainings.

● Perform other duties as assigned or any reasonable job requests.

QUALIFICATIONS:

● Education/Certifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent; ServSafe certification preferred but not required upon hiring, and must be obtained in the first 6 months of employment.

● Computer Efficiency: General computer skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel).

● Work Experience(s): 6 months to 1 year of supervisory/management experience in a full-service restaurant required; some bartending and/or bar management preferred; 1-2 years’ experience serving in a full-service restaurant required, with fine dining, banquet, and/or other customer service preferred.

● Availability: Must have reliable transportation to and from work, and must be flexible and able to work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
