The Head Server and Bartender who will be responsible for directly supervising employees in the FOH Service Staff / Banquet Service Team and carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Companies policies and procedures, ensuring that the FOH staff provides positive customer experiences. The preferred candidate will have bartending skills.
Head Server is someone who is flexible and can adapt to all situations. Key skills should include inventory management, staff schedule management, becoming fully knowledgeable about the menu, strong interpersonal skills, technology skills, and the ability to lift heavy objects. Also provide assistance to management for training employees, planning, assigning work to floor staff to ensure the restaurant runs efficiently, appraising performance of direct reports and when a manager is not present the head server is responsible for addressing complaints and resolving problems of both staff and guests. Each team member is expected to assist when and where necessary during an event to ensure flawless execution. The Head Server will be expected to perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Associates Degree from a 2-year college or High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) with at least 2 years related experience
Minimum 2 years related experience and/or training
Minimum of 21 years of age
ServSafe Certificate (or obtain within 90 days of hire)
Outstanding ability to provide server direction with clarity and courtesy
Sound ability to lift objects weighing up to 30 pounds
Good organization and time management skills
Possess exceptional people skills and comfortable interacting in social situations
Able to communicate and understand English
Have excellent verbal skills, including proper grammar and writing skills
Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)
Serves alcoholic beverages, answers inquiries about the menu and beverages
Restocks bar area throughout operating hours and at closing
