Non-paying Internship available for a savvy student or young career-minded individual. I am looking for someone in the Charlottesville-Richmond area to help me get an enterprise up and running. This enterprise will involve several areas: publishing, social media marketing, dropshipping and other areas.
What’s needed is someone who will be part administrative assistant, part web designer, part social media marketer.
This position is non-paying. However—the successful candidate, if they do well and help the business grow, will have the potential to be in a permanent, paying position with the company, one in which they will have a greater ability to design their own workday, and possibly their own salary.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience for future employment, or towards running your own company.
Job Description
Set up marketing plan for a suspense-thriller novel series
Create Facebook page for same
Setup Tee-shirt site on Shopify or similar sites
Load shirt designs onto t-shirt drop shipping site
Create marketing plan for the t-shirt site
Work on other projects similar to the above
These are just a few of the things that need to be done.
Writing content will most likely not be part of the job (unless of course you want to, as there will be copy and content that needs to be written for the websites).
Requirements
There is no college degree requirement for this position; however, I prefer the successful applicant have at least an Associates Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business Admin, or some other, related fields. Nevertheless, those without a degree will be considered if they show they have the proper acumen/experience.
Must have a working knowledge of social media; must know your way around Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms that can be used for business marketing. This also includes mass email programs such as (but not limited to) Mailchimp.
Must have a working knowledge of basic Graphic Design terminology.
Must have a working knowledge of at least a couple of the following: Shopify, Etsy, WooCommerce, Magento, Wix, RedBubble, etc.
I cannot stress this one enough: you must have either a portfolio of your work, or some record of what you’ve done, something, anything, even if it’s something you did for class, that shows you can do the work.
Preferences and Things That Help
Prefer someone at least 21 years of age. The same thing as above applies; it’s not a hard and fast requirement, but I want to see that the candidate has maturity and good business sense.
Prefer someone who has at least a basic understanding of marketing techniques (examples: press releases, giveways, marketing stunts).
It’s preferable that you know graphics programs, especially Photoshop, but knowing social media marketing is more important.
