Come and join our dynamic IT team, serving a great community of over 400 senior residents. We have an immediate opening for Full Time Support Specialist in our Information Technology Department.
Responsibilities
Responding to daily help desk calls; maintaining request log and coordinating responses to calls with the IT Communications Specialist, including requests for assistance with home computers, printers, phones, television
equipment, and other devices
Building and maintaining all Westminster-Canterbury workstation and laptop computers used by associates,
and all constituents
Assisting with the provision of secondary coverage, and support with telephone, internet, wireless, and network
service providers
Coordinating team support for campus audio-visual equipment, in collaboration with Administration and Resident Services, including the scheduling, setup, training, and testing of all equipment used for presentations,
performances, and activities
Assisting in support of the campus telephone system and its peripheral devices, applications, enhancements and
upgrades, as well as the inventory, deployment, and return of all cell phones, tablets, headsets, and other
communications devices used by associates
Coordinating and maintaining parts and supplies inventory, along with sharing responsibilities for proper
storage and staging of equipment
Qualifications
Preferred: Experience in a healthcare or assisted living environment
Excellent verbal, active listening, and written communication skills with attention to accuracy
Excellent time and project management skills. Must be able to work independently, but demonstrate the ability
to work collaboratively with other professionals
Excellent decision making skills, strong organizational skills, ability to work well with staff and residents.
Attention to detail and ability to prioritize and handle many projects at one time
Ability to analyze and solve technical problems, even those never before encountered in the organization
Hardware skills include product knowledge and technical skills required to install network components and
operating systems, including Microsoft and Apple computers, smartphones, and tablets
Possesses keen knowledge of network security and the increasing threats to loss of confidential data
Requirements
Preference for technician to possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology, Computer Science,
or Associates degree (minimum) with equivalent experience in related field
5 years of relevant experience with networking, telephone/category 5 wiring, cable television and troubleshooting
using associated meters and tools, or a comparable mix of education experience and certifications
MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) or equivalent
Preferred: A+, Net+, or other similar certifications
